Are you people so lazy or unknowing that you can't tell me how I overclock my 1.2 T-bird? I HAVE checked the front page and tomshardware and I still can't find anything on how to overclockmy 1.2 T-bird. Is there anybody out there that is smarter than the average user? I just want to know how I overclock a 1.2 T-bird on a KA266-R mobo. I need to know as to what I need to do on the CPU and what I need to do on the mobo. Please help.

I don't know anything about that particular Motherboard. but I can give you a link that will show you how to unlock your processor. It's actually a review of an unlocking kit but as it says in the article, you don't need it.

woah, no need to be so demanding. We are all here to help you. Here is a link on how to unclock your bird.

How to Unclock the L1 Bridges (http://www.overclockers.com/tips402/)

Not too sure on your mobo. Should say how to in your instruction manual. I believe you can use the bios for your multiplier adjustments and there is a 100mhz/133mhz bus jumper on the board to set the FSB. Your CPU speed will be the FSB speed x multiplier

Example 100mhz bus x 10 multiplier = 1200mhz(1.2ghz).

Hope that helps!

You'll receive the best results if you educate yourself, and proceed with a good helping of humility, take a great deal of notes, and be patient.

Overclocking can be a humbling experience. The best recipe for success are knowledge and patience.

You are the only one that can overclock your combination. You have to have resonable goals based upon your current combination. This is a start. There is a lot that goes into a really successful overclock. I have sometimes spent three weeks looking for the right combination of BIOS settings, in search of optimal performance.

Be patient, and willing to learn some new things. Take notes, and know how to clear CMOS. This will be a journey, how successful it is depends greatly upon how you pursue it.

when you come into a forum, and need help, it is always proper to be humble....ESPECIALLY if you know squat to begin with

whats next....demanding someone come over and do it for you?

Start is always the same and you can find this everywhere:
- check your cpu if it has all pins under it. Some AMD CPU's has 4 pins removed ant because of this multiplier is blocked forever.
- if your L1 is cut, short it with very soft pencil
- buy the best cooler you can find
- mount it all with your MB
When you unlock the cpu you are free. Now you can experiment with fsb, multiplier and voltage until you get a stable overclocked system or fried cpu.

I normally donīt refuse to help anybody, if he asks me kindly, but thatīs not exactly what you are doing. So, first learn how to ask, and then there will be people willing to help you. I you donīt want to, do the f*** on your own

The 1.2 Athlon is factory unlocked 99 percent of the time.

The key to a good overclocking is in the mother board manual. In the manual read up on processor settings and how to set them, also read the voltage setings.

It al comes down to simple math and adjustments to the Main boards default settings.Take your time ask questions but as i said READ THE MANUAL First ok ?? EMAIL me if you want some help !!!

Gutspiller, I'm new here but I already know that those people are helpful! They're patient, they'll listen if you ask kindly. Not exactly the kind of people you can treat like you did. Don't hesitate to refer to the main page and do some search, overclockers.com is one of the best ressource available.
It's hard to find a forum when people are not flaming at each others, so enjoy this one.
