raid of what?????

My friend has(or had) a DFI AD77 Infinity mobo with onboard raid and all the good stuff. It ran great for months and then, after a few minor upgrades, it started crapping out. The bios started going screwy and then it refused to read the raid array. It wont even let you boot from cd. I have reset the cmos and let it sit for two dfays unpluged and without the battery. Still to no avail. He has already ordered a new chaintech 7NJS-ZENITH Ultra. (VERY NICE) I would like to see if a bios fladsh could bring it back to life so it can be sold to recoup the cost of the new mobo.

most on board raids suck. not many can run the nested raid modes. if it's THAT big of a deal buy an IDE raid controller that can do 0+1

If it won't flash, you could call DFI and ask them to send you a new bios chip (assuming that it's a bios problem and not a more general failure). I'm not sure about DFI, but I've seen other vendors offer the service for anywhere betwen $20 and $50.
