Hmm.... seems like my last post has disappeared. Odd......
I can get a Duron 800 for only $63 new, along with an Abit KT7E mobo for $110. I am going to buy an Alpha PAL6035 and some Arctic Silver. I was hoping 1.1 or 1.2ghz @ 50 C under load. What can I expect to be able to push my CPU to?

By increasing the FSB to 133Mhz or higher (both NOT officially supported) one should be able to reach something like 1.0 or 1.1 gigaherz.
Make sure to do all the overclocking in very small steps (even the FSB, vcore and IO voltage) because a Duron is easily fried....

Well the Duron 800 I overclocked went to about 1025 mhz with a GlobalWIN FOP-32. I have heard of people hitting 1.1 Ghz though.

My 800mhz duron oced up to 145x7=1015, CPU idle temp is 26-31C, 3.9V I/O, 1.85V core. Are there any hiden problems in the future if I keep the V I/O that high? Any comments from gentlemen? Thank you. BTW, that Duron is AKCA week 7 of 2001, a good one. AMD rules, at least for now.

my VI/O has been at 3.89v for a long time and i havn't niticed and hardware degradation. and my duron 700 dose 1.35 with watercooling 2.5vcore at about 46C(BIG RADIATOR with 16" house fan on it)

well eventually it could fry the vcore chip. good way to test is lower your vcore, reboot, go into bios setup again if it says what you sett at it's good. if it read higher than what you set, Hmmmm

I've got my duron 800@1054 8.5(124) running around 47 degrees C at load....running stable as a brick wall.
Using a coolermaster 6h11 hsf I plan on adding a duct and a 80mm fan to the side of the case to get the temp down a bit, but have had no problems yet =)

Get a 600 Duron for $40.00 instead. Mine runs 1.0 G at 1.85Vcore and 1.1G ay 2.0Vcore (not for the cooling challenged). Take the extra money and get a better HSF.
