Lately the autoupdate feature is nagging me to install 823980 (the worm blast fix). The problem with that is
1. I already have it
2. It keeps asking me to download it every day.
3. It never actually installs (at least I dont see it, just downloads)

And another problem so I dont have to make another thread:
I used to be logged on upon bootup automatically. Recently though, after I created another account, it began prompting on bootup which account needs to be logged on. That was fine until there was no longer a need for the second account. In fact, I deleted it so I am the only user currently. Is there a way to log me in as the default account without a prompt on startup?

Afa your 2nd problem goes...Start | Run | Type control userpasswords2 and hit OK | In the dialog box that appears, clear the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" check box, and then click OK.

Working backwards, afa the autoupdate feature recommending you install KB823980...I would just turn off the autoupdate feature for the time being until MS works out the apparent bug(s) with the RPC/DCOM patch and autoupdate. :)

This link might help you. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315231 I think the solution to your problem is on the bottom of the page.
