Is my Duron locked

I heard that duron's made before a certain date are not locked is this true, if so what is this date.

My duron 750 says 1999 on it even thought i just got it from the shops a few weeks ago.

cant say for sure on the date issue, but if you cant change the multiplier past default then it is locked

I believe that all of the 750's were locked, the best way to determine this is to actually look at the CPU. If you are not sure what you are looking for, then it would seem that you need to do a bit more research if you want to have a successful overclocking experience. A good place to start is on the home page of this site under beginers guide.

The date "1999" is on all of the socket "A" cpu's, it is the patent date.
