Yes, I am reporting that I indeed do have a green aluminum core 1.0GHz with the AVIA stamp. I have worked with about 8 or 9 different socket A CPUs and just received a shipment of 2, 1 of them was an unlocked 1.33GHz AXIA with a very definite purple (read: blue) core and the other was a locked 1.0GHz AVIA with a very bright green core. Both were manufactured on the 9th week of 2001. In my possession right now I have 2 green and 2 blue CPUs, so I am sure this 1.0 is a green core. Still, the good news is that the "newer" green core CPUs overclock better than the older ones did. My "old" 1.0GHz blue core 48th week of 2000 CPU did 1200 at its best (at 1.650V though) and barely POSTed at 1.33. My new green core AVIA 1.0 booted windows at 1.33GHz at default voltage, but was clearly not stable. Still, an improvement over the older blue core 1.0 I'd have tested further than this, but the CPU is going to a client of mine's computer. All I cared was which CPU (the 1.33 or the AVIA 1.0) would overclock the most.
For those that are interested, the 1.33 is currently doing 1450 at default voltage. This newer CPU likes higher voltages more than lower. At default and at 1.675V, it doesn't come close to booting Windows at 1518, but at 1.850V settings, it almost makes it all the way to the Windows Start bar with a FOP32. I expect to have my water-cooling kit installed later this week and hope to break into 1.5GHz or so. I have limited bus speeds to choose from with my FIC AD11 AMD 760 board, but at least I have multiplier adjust.

Interesting note: the mobo temps have risen from about 25C to 32C probably due to the higher power requirements of the 1450MHz CPU. I used to get 25C temps with the case on. 32C temps are with the case panels off.
