Whats a good case for under $200 with at least a 420w power supply. i plan on ocing so I need one that has alot of fans.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS

with at least a 420w? well if you want a good case and power, id buy them separate. id buy myself a fortron 400w (dont worry probably better thna most 420w) and some nice coolermaster or lianli case. goto newegg.com and go under their case's section and look under those 2 brands. ull find it useful if you turn on the "show picture" box thingy.

good luck

the thermaltake Xaser III has 7 fans and really good airflow. I would get a seperate psu though.

Thats a pretty hefty budget you got there ;) you have a pretty wide selection of cases in the $150+ range (thats leaving plenty for a nice beefy Fortron PSU).

This is one of my favorites:

it also comes in black.

This coolermaster is another of my favorites:

While not as sexy as the others this case has mountings for 2 120mm fans which is just fantastic. Its not as sexy as the other 2 but the paint job on it is real nice. I was pleasantly suprised when it arrived:

If you are looking for pure cooling without a ton of regard for how it looks this case has wicked cooling (3 120mm fan mounts). Take a look at the buyer reviews on this one and you will see that everyone that uses it loves it:

I'd spend $75 on a Fortron 530W, and the remaining $125 on a case you like. Lian Li is a great option, as are Chieftec cases. :D

Why would he need a 530 watt PSU?

i would not isn't the 12v line on that one 18A? i would get an antec or something with more power on the 12v if you are gonna run lots of fans.

yeah a antec true 420 watt psu.. would be good, and a cheiftech depending on what u like for looks

forton makes good units but if you're looking into 500w+ than you should drop fortron. line stability is going to play a bigger role in stability than power output at that level. i'm not sure on how to exactly explain line stability. it's something like how much the line deviates from what it's supposed to put out. fortron and about evryone else claims 5% line stability. antec claims 3% and the power PC ones claim 1%. it'd be better to go with something from antec or power pc when you get into this area of the game.

if i were you i'd get the chieftec case that everyone has then put a fortron 400w or an antec true power 430-480 in it. if you go with a xaser than go with an antec true power. xaser's have tons of fans in them and you'll need the beefier 12v. speciallyif you run an nf7-s or epox 8rda where the Vcore comes off the 12v.

i really like the thermaltake xaser III cases too. if you don't mind sound and have $$, replace the fans w/ tornados, hook em up to the baybus so you can quiet them if needed. works really good IMO
