Does anyone know if the new Bios's on the Abit KT7 line of boards supports higher multipliers than 12.5x? Cause I have a 1 GHz chip ordered (hopefully AXIA) and a Abit KT7-RAID (not KT133A) and it only goes up to 12.5x multiplier, i don't like to overclock FSB, so that limits me to a 1250 mhz overclock. So let me know please, thank you!

12.5 is the highest multiplier. is it a kt7 or kt7a? if regular kt7 expect 12.5*110 for a total of 1375 max for a kt7a you could get all the way up to 1600+
it mostly depends on your cpus core and the ram

ive not heard of any thing like that but it would be nice ;D

the best oc`s are a balance between multiplier and fsb generaly you will know if you have the fsb set to high mostly hdd errors system wont boot ;D

Ok thats what I was wondering. Its a regular KT7 and not the A version. And yes 12.5 x 110 will be the highest i can get maybe 111 mhz FSB (i have tested FSB already). Ok, that makes sense, but how do these boards support the 1.3 Ghz 100 FSB Cpu's?! u need a 13x multiplier for that!

My KT7-raid will run the FSB at 118 (stable) and I have heard of some running at 125 (claimed). I know that some boards will run a higher FSB than their brothers but the Ram and bios settings can make a big difference also. I use Kingmax PC150.
If you can hit 118FSB then:: 118*12.5=1475MHz. not too bad until Abit updates the bios with some higher multipliers. I was considering an AXIA myself but have decided to wait on a Palamino. Right now I'm running a 750TBird at 1035.
I know that you said that you don't like using FSB to clock but it will give you better results than using the multiplier alone. Your CPU scores will be about the same at comparable MHz but everythig else, especially memory will yeild better results if you bump the FSB.

I would've waited for a palimino as well, except I sold my old AMD 1 ghz 200 FSB thunderbird on Ebay for $150, and the new 1 ghz 266 FSB (which will likely be an AXIA) only cost me $150 + shipping :) So basically I get an AXIA for $7 or so, pretty sweet if you ask me!

Oh and I will also probly sell the AXIA and get a palimino when it comes out as well, but i figured why not get an AXIA if I can for $7!

PS. You can get 118 mhz FSB huh? thats pretty dang good. I have Mushkin CAS 2-3-2 PC150 RAM, so i don't think the ram is what is causing instability at higher FSB settings on mine.
