It thinking of getting one of these waterblocks, but im not sure which one to get. I remember reading somewhere that the original "high flow" model got a c/w rating of like .19. While the new tsunami one got a c/w rating of .25. Is this true? or do i have the numbers all wrong. And if those numbers are right, is there any reason to get the tsunami?

I told you those numbers. They were from here

and here.

If you can find the high volume original model, i don't see why not to go for it. I don't think they are making it anymore.

I was also confused by the c/w ratings. Why would blocks so similar have such a vastly different rating? Perhaps someone could answer us...

You are correct.

There are huge difference between the two blocks (the Mega Tsunami is not the 'spiral' design. It tried to incorporate 'micro-channels' to produce better cooling. Personally I don't think it was well thought out.

okay, so it sounds like the spiral high flow design is the way to go. I've heard rumors that the clear lexan tops will crack though. Has anyone experienced this or have any thoughts?

I got a cracked topped one they will fix it (for like $10) with an Aluminum one

The reason the C/W ratings are so different is that they were measured under completely different circumstances by different people.

Comparing those numbers is meaningless.

Look at, "Bill Adams' Waterblock TEST RESULTS" in this link (http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/) for numbers that can be compared.

well that link would have been helpful it is had the original high flow waterblock, but it doesn't. So i guess the question still lingers......
