P3 700

I have a p3 700 laptop i think well thats what it says in bios but in windows it says its a P3 550 does anyone know why this is ??

plus does this mean its running at only 550mhz ??

its a compaq armada e500

where is your proof that its a 700? if it says 550 and is a lappy, and there are no other bios options then it probably IS a 550.

Try using something like Sandra or WCPUID to determine your actual speed.

and see if it makes a difference plugging it in, some laptops run slower on battery than on ac

What Supertrucker said. Also, be sure to boot it while it is plugged in. I have a laptop that stays at the slower speed after it is plugged in when it was booted off the battery.
