Okay, this is starting to tick me off: I'm getting random disconnects from AIM every 1-2 minutes. This has been happening for a good week, at least.

Heres the thing: Every other computer on my network runs AIM fine.

This is getting me very angry, dont know how to fix it

Yea, plus I dont know much about networks and stuff, lol :bang head

I noticed this at work last week, and it has happened from time to time in the past. I think when that happens, the AOL servers are having problems, or your ISP is having issues. Nothing to do with your setup most likely.

might want to use a proxy for your connection. just a though. goto "preferences", "sign on/off", then "connection". good luck.

it also might help to know a little about your network configuration. is there anything special about your computer compared to the others? are you on a wireless or hard wired network? what version of windows? what version are your other computers running? have all the service packs? just a few questions :)

Happens to me a lot on my wireless networked computer. Sometimes wireless tends to disconnect for a second at a time and then come back, you won't even notice, but aim does sometimes. If it is wireless make sure your signal strength is good.

I used to get disco'd every time my wife signed onto outlook express on a different computer, then I turned off the option in OE, no more problems.

The option that he is referring to is "Hang-up after sending and receiving" it can be found by going to tools-options-connection tab in Outlook Express.
