HI Guys

I just bought those Components:
Kingston HyperX Twin Pack 2x256 MB Pc4000 / DDR 500
Asus P4P800 Bios Version: 1009 final
Intel 2,4c

I tried running them with FSB 250 and everthing worked fine with automatic memory adjusting. just one problem. The System didn`t detect the Memory as PC 4000 Memory but as a PC 3200 one and downgraded it.

If i try to set the divider Memory / FSB to 1:1 (setting memory frequency to 400) the system is not booting any more.

Anyone got a n idea ? what did i wrong ?
Also testet Memory with CPU-Z and it said Memory is just PC 3200

Could also be the problem that CPU-Z is out of date. (actuall version 1.19a)

Would be nice if 1one could help me or tell me whats wrong with my config

Try booting at 235 with the 1:1 ratio, and slowly bumping it up. I have read that most of the PC4000 can't actually run at 500 mhz. Also, did you adjust the timings? Is turbo or MAM enabled. All those factors could hinder your overclock.

...

if your pc4x00 doesn't run at rated speeds at rated timings /volts return it.

pc4x00 is a complete waste of money. With the pure crap timings you are using you could run bh-5 pc3200 at 2-5-2-2 and destroy your pc4x00. If you are only gonna run at ddr500 you shouldn't even need pc4x00. corsair 3500, ocz 3700, kingston hyperx 3x00 can usually get there with some decent volts.

Running a 2.4c 1:1 @ 250 is just stupid. get some nice 3500 get some 2-5-2-2 going, and get the 2.4c running at 270+ and your benchmark scores will sky rocket...all except for s-sandra which has no effect on your prefromance, being that every other benchmark would improve. actually if you are only running ddr500 I garuntee if you got some good ram at 2-5-2-2 that let your proc max out you would see a very large improvement in s-sandra scores...your cpu oc would have a greater effect than the drop from 1:1 to 5:4, and like I said timings make a much bigger impact.

pc3700 and pc4x00 do what they say they will do...give you a big # in a meaningless benchmark that doesn't gauge any system preformance. Get some good 3500/3200 and watch your 3dmark scores jump between .5k-2k!

cpuz119 will recognize the memory correct. I fthe memory wont run at the rated 250 at 1:1 return it.

bump up the mem voltages. turn off turbo and MAM. relax your timings(2.5,3.3.5.8) and try 250mHz. run the mem voltages up to 2.85v. the mem will take it fine.

....

run the mem at it's speciffied timings and voltage. If it won't run consider it a blessing, and return that junk. Get some good mem that can run at tight timings and destroy that mem in every benchmark.

...

get some mushkin 3500, or some corsair 3500, or buffalo 3700. If you give them like 3.3v You should be able to get ddr500 at 2-2-2. Even if you only got like ddr 480 if you had 2-2-2 you would absolutely destroy that pure crap ram.

Ok i tested the rams with different settings..

voltage up to 2.85v (max bios settings with P4P800)

FSB up to 245 with 1:1 ratio, worked but higher fsb ends with a system crash...

no MAM and no TURBO an no SPD, with the badest timings
I tried the beta bios too...the same...

5:4 works fine, but i bought pc4000 because of 1:1... :(

i think the rams are crap and i have to return them

...

read any of my posts...then follow them. That ram you got won't even fun as crappy as it is advertised...that is just sad.

Get rid of that crap, and get something that will help your system, not decieve you into thinking it is.

I run my A-Data Pc4000 at 290 1:1 ratio and allthough timings aren´t that tight i think you have to go pretty high fsb even with 2-5-2-2 to get the same results as me Gouda.. So all pc4000 memory aren´t bad. Especially when i gave 148$ for 2 sticks of 256MB A-data

I take it you don't like Kingston ram. You posted numerous times about it

actually if you went just as high as you (290) 5:4 with 2-2-2-5 you would rape every score that you have had in every bench except for s-sandra.

I love kingston...3000-3500. I just bought some khx 3200 2-2-2-6 with bh-5. Any pc4x00 is just not as good as bh-5 regarldess of what company it is.

Dude, I'm pretty sure that memory running at 290(580DDR) at CL3 will turn out a better score than at 232 (464DDR) at CL2. I have seen myself that mhz will beat better timings.

yea but thats the thing u need 290+ just to take on anything a 3500 can take ;) which means u have to have like 2.6c or below i on the other hand have a 2.8C so i went with some nice mushkins and god they are beautiful hehe
