Help-p4b533 P4 2.26

I have a Asus P4B533 with a P4 2.26. I downloaded motherboard monitor 5 and it says the cpu speed is 1700and the core temp is 45 C. My multiplier is fixed at 17 and the cpu external frequency is set at 100. Is this the fsb speed? The asus user guide says that I can change the multiplier if I set the mobo to jumper free mode. Should I try to set the mobo to jumper free mode and then just increase the multiplier as a first step in overclocking? I am new at this and would appreciate any information or advice. Thank you for your help.

Go into the bios and change the cpu fsb to 133.
