Hey

When I load CS, everything is fine. I load a game, and only the top left 1/4 of the screen is visible. When the game finishes loading, I can only see the top left 1/4. If I press "esc" then "resume game" I re-enter the game and am able to see the whole screen, but I have no crosshair, no money in the bottom right corner, no life, no armor, I can't see the text msg's in the bottom left corner, nor can I see kill/death in the top right. I can play the game properly, but I can't see any of the buy menus etc.

This stuff happens no matter what game I join, after I defragment, after I restart. It just happened outta the blue I don't remember doing anyhting weird....

Im running XP
1700+ overclocked
NF7
512 ddr

cs worked absolutely fine beforehand!

Please help, or if you're heard of this somewhere or a way to fix is pls post a link.

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Have you tried reinstalling counter-strike?

nope, Im hoping to fix it w/o re instaling. I know that re installing will for sure fix it, but I'm trying to avoid that. If I have no resolution, I'll re install tomorrow

thanks tho

try just running the update again that might help and it doent change your settings.

Have you changed any video card drivers or settings? If you are running it in direct3d try running in opengl and see if that fixes it. Sounds like it will need a re-install though, if the above doesnt fix it.

Hey, I fixed it.

I didnt do the updates or the re install, nor have I fiddled with video drivers.

The application shortcut that I was using on my desktop was messed up somehow. If I use the strike.exe in my counter-strike folder, everything is fine. Weird eh?

Oh well, thanks for your help guys!

i had this prolem along time ago

it had something to do with the resolution

try going to openGL mode, then set it at 800x600 see if that clears it up
