Im planning to purchase new videocard, what will you recommend between the two? coz i want to buy not so expensive but with some performance. Should i buy geforce4 mx series or fx5200 with 128mb or 64mb on it?

Whats your price range? I take it that you plan on playing games? If your buying in store and thinking about gaming.. I think the fx5200 is about $99. You can obviously find a much lower price online. But if you got $99 to burn, buy a gf4 ti4200. ti4200 will last you a bit and is pretty good imo.

If your NOT gaming, just get any old cheap video card.. like a gf2 mx400 or somthing.

I have just changed my MX440 (64MB) to an FX5200 (128MB).

I would say the FX5200 is the card for you, as it is more "future-proof" than the MX440. Plus it supports DirectX 8 and 9.

For a budget card, the FX5200 is extremely good value, so go for the 128MB version. It will play current games at 1024*768/32-bit color at very respectable framerates(30+), and I'm very happy with mine:)

I would go with the 5200, but if you do gaming at all I would suggest getting a 4200 with 64 mb of ram. The 4200 is like $20 more than the 5200.

Unless you need DirectX 9 support, go with a 64MB ti 4200. If you need DirectX 9 support, go with the better Asus FX5200.

Why would you need DX9 support? The ti4200 is a better value, and for the same price as a 5200 you can get a Radeon 9100 thats 50% faster.

Yup, get an 8500/9100 or 64mb ti4200. The price differences between an FX5200 and those two cards are too low to warrant the dismal performance.

DX9 support is useless as of now, and a card like a 5200 won't be able to push future games very well anyway.
