View Full Version : I see RED!
Wow, all of a sudden it really got red around me.
There was CP and Ice, but now hkgonra, moorcito(www.overclockers.com) and ISUuNFers turned red, big time.
And with at least a week before the "awakening".

Good!!! Fold on! I'm about to go yellow again after falling back to green for a week. We need to ramp up the production if we want to stay in the race.

Not sure what the awakening is , but if that means you are adding power go ahead and awake !:D
Maybe our big red group should team up and take over the #1 spot. ;)
hopefully there will be one more shortly :)
me and osumaxx went from white to orange in about 2-3 weeks. still got more rigs to add including a dually 1700.

An overclocked dually 1700...? :)
I got my dual 1700+s to 2100+ pretty easily, but 2GHz/2400+ shouldnt be hard.

Yeah, use ISUuNFers just got back to school last week so we have tripled our active cpu's in one week. I'm hoping to still add a few more but the rest will be a little harder to borg...
And as hkgorna said, what is the awakening??

Welp.. if my begging went well, I should have 4x2400 P4 mhz coming my way soon... all brand new scumbags.
Should put me in the high orange.
*crosses fingers and hopes*
Cheers, Flix

Muahahaha, the "BEAST" cometh!!
or to be more precise it will be 5 beasts that will add up to.....ah but you'll have to wait. At least till it has awoken. He has already begun to stir and the world trembles and holds it's breath......

any particular parts you are waiting on ? I have some old junk around i might could throw your way.
nope, but thanks for asking!!
Just working through the kinks, making sure we have enough power or for that matter if St. Louis does;)
Being a little overly careful since 1st time to try this.
Don't want ST. Louis to have one of those Blackouts like in the NE.

LOL! We could be called big red.

You either have to be good at borging or wealthy enough to build and maintain a huge yatta farm. I manage to pop up to yellow every once in a while with two processors. Top 172... woot!

Good at borging. Only have two at home.
OMG!! Anyone have any spare ac's lieing around?? We kicked up 3 of the 5 segments, put them under load and the room went from a perfect 68f to 82f within 3 hours :(
Admittidly it was about 100f outside but it showed no signs of slowing(the heat rising that is).
Gonna install a 12000BTU window unit tommarrow, but not sure how much that is gonna help.
Anyone have any bright ideas?

Lots of fans :p
That's what I've had to do over the course of this summer in my room, otherwise it bakes. I have one fan blowing air in from other parts of my house, and one blowing air in from outside, and one circulating toward the rigs. It helps, but it still gets kinda hot in here. The AC will probably help quite a bit, just make sure that the cold air is getting over towards the rigs.
You could surround the rigs with some dry ice ;)

Good job on red, I don't know why we let you pass us though :D.
The one thing that got my room to stay cold was moving 3 rigs into a basement area. But you must admit that having a room stay at 70F during winter with the window open is impressive.
ISUuNFers or bust.

Hehe, Sterculus while some nice ideas this is...let's say a corprate setting. The beast/s are in a specifically designed computer room. The ac had not even sweat to keep the room at 68f regaurdless of outside temp, hell the thermostat pages people if the temp gets over the set thershold.
I'm pushing my luck if I can't get temps stable.
I'm already in a catch 22. They need to know that about the temps but I'm afraid they will yank the plug on my project. I'm only being allowed to do this because I pulled about every string I had and they were intregued about the "stress test" results of doing it.
We will of course try to come up with a solution before a) Telling them :D b) before any damage can/may occur
A little good news. The plant engineer is gonna take a look at it tomarrow.

I have it. I have a nice cool basement where my farm is now. Ship them up here, and I will "watch over them" until some cooler date.
I will evan pay the shipping:)

Normally, I have 12 2.0GHZ P4s folding just during working hours, but last week I set them up with the folding client. I figured I might as well have them fold when it can get the most out of the processor. I guess that move paid off. ;)
WooT!!!! There was a problem with the AC and 2 vents closed!!! I think we in the green again.

I know one thing, all this red has slowed my climb to a crawl. I am not slated for another spot increase until September 1st.

Don't feel bad, according to my stats, I'm not due for a spot increase EVER

I thought you were about to borg the IRS , or some BIG place like that Nik ? Are you slipping ? ;)

Oh no, I am not slipping... but at my current rate of production, 11-12K PPW, I am going no where. Once I borg the 83 machines that I will get my grubby little hands on in the next few months, I should be untouchable. That would put me at around 240 Ghz of folding powah, all 24/7. I guesstimate my PPW would be somewhere around 57-59K PPW  Mwahahahahahahaha is all I can say.
All I can say is "wow"!

I wouldn't say untouchable Nik ;)

Untouchable by the 'humans' is what I should have said. Machines like Plext and DGroms, well, they are just not of flesh and blood :D
I wasn't refering to them :D
I've noticed all of the red moving up the ranks. Just when I thought I could relax for a while. shoo go away :D
Epauls, Grats on figuring out the cooling situation. (**must remember to go back and shut vents**)
nik- If you are borging some multi processor rigs I've been having some problem keeping the folding client from getting over aggressive. I think it might be a priority problem with running as a service. I'm working with the admin on this now. I'll let you know how it goes.
maybe with this new power we can start gaining again on second. I'm doing a network cleanup/install next week and they seem pretty clueless. I can always tell them its a network bandwith monitoring tool.

Yup, looks like there's a nice race going on at the top :D
I had two lousy days (most probably due to 33 pointers, argh I'm still getting some on my rigs). But I've just added some CPU power, and more is coming soon... http://www.deephousepage.com/smilies/whistle.gif

tell me about it , the 33 pointers are killing me.
Yep, the 33pointers are putting serious dents in production.
Namus, nice going on the production increase!! You had us all thinking you were gonna have a decrease;)
I was able to get him to give it another try. Plus I got a 2.8 P4 xeon chip that replaced some of the machines that I lost.
I can't let you guys pass me that easily can i?
what fun would that be?

Ya, us ISUuNFers got a nice boost when I turned on all my boxen in conjunction with all of them going back to school, but it got too hot here in Illinois to leave it that way, so I had to flip the switch back off. Give me a few more weeks, and we'll be red again, and be wanting to regain 18th or maybe even higher.....

get one of those giant freezers, and leave it upen, and put the comps in a smaller room.. that might work :)
