What is everyone's take on this?
I'm ordering an 8RDA+ with 2 256Mb Sticks of buffalo pc3200 from Newegg on friday and will be upgrading my current system with a SB live 5.1 value.
What is going to give me better sound as well as low CPU utilization???
:D :D :D

the onboard will give you lower cpu utilization.. as for teh quailty.. only your ears can tell you that =d ppl argue back and forth about it.. just check both and pick the one you like better =d

Here is an interesting look at this issue:

"Sound Can Be Hazardous for Games"

http://www6.tomshardware.com/game/20030405/index.html

I, however, chose to get an SBLive 5.1 for my 8rda+ because I wanted digital out and EAX.

I read that article too. I tryed it out and I love the on board. Gives some good performance boost in games and I think it sounds just the same... plus I like how it can output the THX (or Dolby.. something like that) to my home theater... games are pure sweetness!
