CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME A COUPLE REPUTABLE SITES TO BUY aUNTHENTIC AMD PROCESSORS AND SUCH. THANX ALL, AND I WILL BE TRYING TO OVERCLOCK IT!
Hi Gerry;
Start at http://www.pricewatch.com to find the model of AMD cpu you are looking for in the price range (don't forget shipping) you are interested in. Once you establish a few vendors who suite the bill, check their rating at http://www.resellerratings.com. Note that not everyone has had a bad experience with a not so stellar reseller. IE I got my processor from Dynasty Express because they did not rip you off with high shipping rates. They did not rate highly, but me experience was a good one, all the same.
Good Luck and FWIW, the best bang-for-buck comes from 600 Durons and 1.0Ghz/266 Tbirds (IMHO)

Gerry the best I have delt with by a long shot is newegg.com. Good prices and very resonable shipping. I would never buy from econopc, they really screwed me over. If you do buy from them hope to god you don't have to return anything. Just my .000002 worth.

Hoot has given you some great info. The only thing I would add, is if you can get to a computer show near you-you should go. You can hand pick your cpu-and being that you plan on oc-a hand picked axia 1gig would be really nice. Also I have found that you can check several venders at the show and get a good price. There is a drawback-support after the sale, may be poor or none existant. Goodluck.

Hoot has the idea, I bought my 1.2gig Axia T-Bird from EconPC.com. Although not as highly rated as other sites, they delivered fast and for $25 they gave a 1 year warranty.

Look at PriceWatch. Just upgraded to a 1.33 266 CPU. Ordered it from www.Peachpc.com Best price with a 1 yr warranty. They e-mailed me stating that if I wanted to wait another week to take delivery that AMD was going to have a price drop. They saved me $45 bucks!
If you really think about it, the CPU either will work or not when you install it. I know the Three year warranty CPU'S are sold with a AMD approved heat sink/fan combo that usually doesn't meet our high standards.

I have a major problem with the vendors on Pricewatch, WOW they do have kicka$$ prices, BUT did ya happen to notice the shipping? How in gods green earth did they get $10.95 (starting) for shipment of a CPU smaller than a small pocket calculator? I actually called a few (I wont mention the names) but when I found out, freight (on average) was $6 higher than listed... Please for yoru sake check around.
