Moving PC with SLK 900

I'm used to moving my PC with my car.
Now that I have the SLK 900 is it still safe,
or do I risk any damage?
Sould I take it off?

Yes if it's the SLK-900U, the one that uses the four mounting holes on your motherboard, then it will be okay. I shipped mine via UPS across the United States and it was fine (the fan fell off though).

I took the SLK-900 off my computer for the 2000 mile drive from Detroit to Spokane, but for short trips, you should be ok.

I have a rule of thumb here going for any heatsink above 400 grams.

If you use mounting holes four the sink, then you're out of the trouble zone...

If you clamb the sink to the socket, its always worth taking it off.

But I must admit I've never seen a torn off socket..

Cheers, Flix

i would think it would be safe with the clips hehe. it's on there pretty tight.. if it's a really bumpy ride maybe ya wanna take it off though just in case.. ehhehhe

Thanks for the feedback!
It is the SLK 900U.
There sure are some bumps since the roads here are nothing like
U.S. roads but it's a 200km ride and surely no safari!

Also, put your case on its side, so that the HSF is resting on the socket, not trying to fall off :D

i would just put your computer back in the box it came in
well put the tower in the box it came in it usually has foam inside it will help alittle
