I just got my hand on the original (It's practically the only game I can run with an 8 mb vid card these days)

getting this game was the worst thing I've done in a long time. For the past week, I've neglected all my work to play this game!

Sheesh, anybody still play this?

My physics teacher (awesome woman!) was really into this game so I finally gave it a try...

Man it's addictive

Right now, I'm running an 8 household family (started with 20k). My house isn't much of a house. It's currently 8 beds on the grass, a black and white tv with a couch, a bookcase, a computer, one fridge, one garbage can, and an outhouse :D

I used to play this game a few years ago, but I got bored of watching them spend most of their time either eating, going to the washroom, or working.

I had a lot more fun torturing my Sims!!
For example you could create a maze outside and place the fridge inside the maze and watch the Sims try and nagivate the maze to get something to eat.

Another method is to lock them up in a room with no windows and doors with only one toilet and fridge. Then slowly take away each of the items and watch them live in their own filth and die.

BTW - I'm not as sadistic as I sound above. I'm really a nice person in real life!!

The game becomes easier after Living Large (gnome tables) and the most fun after House Party. Everything after that is really a waste.

Yeah I just reinstalled it so the girls can play. They play for hours and hours. Just like they did with Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon.

It can get mighty boring...... and some of the expansion backs are quite dumb. Just wait for Sim2

my favorite thing to do was make friendly with the neighbors and then get them to move in with me, but when they did i would lock them up in my basement and keep them like zoo animals... then, like Masakari said, take away thier toilet and/or food for a little while to mess with em. i loved just pulling a Buffalo Bill and befreinding the town chickies until i kidnap and murder them

Now if I would have thought of playing it like that a few years ago I might have had a little more fun playing it.

I used to play the game, but I found myself getting bored with it, not really my style. HOWEVER! My girlfriend is a Sims finatic, she has EVERY expansion pack. Unleashed adds a lot to the game, a much bigger neighbourhood and pets! IF you are really into the game you can customize it a lot, my gf runs her own site dedicated to supplying skins and objects... you can find that HERE (http://www.under-your-skin.com)

If you don't understand how to get the stuff working, just shoot her an email, she can tell you better than I can. Its really easy though, shouldn't be a problem for anyone here.
