View Full Version : 1.8 ghz celeron stepping
how do I know my stepping? how do i find out what stepping i got in windows?
To find out what stepping you have, look up the S-spec code off the retail box or on the top of the CPU and then look it up on the Intel website. What difference does it make? The Celeron 1.8 is a Willamette core and it sucks for overclocking. Expect maybe about 2 gig clock speed out of that dog.
I meant 1.7 ghz and it's not willamette.
And I watched the overclockers.com thingy where u can see their O/c record, a dude had 3100 mhz with stock cooling, and everyone else did like 2,2-2,3...thats nice...
some of those records anre not real
okey, thanks man... thought it was pretty impossible. making as much mhz as I do with a 1700 celeron...
All P-4 based Celerons below 2 gig are Willamette cores. All 2 gig and above Celerons are Northwood cores. I've seen a couple Willamettes hit 2.1 to 2.2 gig with exceptional cooling and luck, but that's about it. I call BS on a 1.7 Celeron running at 3.1 gig with stock cooling. It ain't possible.
okay thanks man... I thought so too.
What do you prefer... IC7 or P4C800? dunno what to choose.
Both are good mobos. The Asus has higher RAM voltages. But, I really love my IC7. Can't go wrong with either.
Okey thanks man... I will go for the IC7, then... But IC7-G, the only differance is they has RAID 0 and 1 and a gigabit lan huh? only diff? thanks man
Both IC7 and IC7-G have RAID 0 and 1. The difference is that the IC7-G has the Gigabit LAN and 4 SATA channels instead of the 2 SATA channels on the IC7. Therefore, the IC7-G can run 4 harddrives in RAID (like 0+1), whereas the IC7 will only allow 2 drives to run in RAID.
Mmkay, cool man.
I will go for the IC7 then. Thanks alot
making batty earn those blue stars :D
good job BB ;)
