I am running a 1.33 266fsb athlon at 1.45ghz and the temp is at 57c, its was at like 55c stock (1333), i see people running at temps like 35-45c, my config is this
athlon 1.33ghz @ 1.45ghz stable
asus a7a266 mobard
524megs crucial pc2100ddr ram
asus 7700 32meg ddr video card
globalwin wbk38 heatsink and fan(loud!)
antec 400watt power supply
and no case fans
no thermal grease (im afraid to unclip the heatsink and break the chip)
this thing is making my bedroom a heat box, any suggestions how to cool it down?. i think i can get this thing overclocked even more , but i dont want to go over 60c i think the voltage is at 1.8 now..
any help would be great

You NEED, and i mean NEED thermal grease. Strongly suggest you under clock your CPU, order some artic silver and apply it. Just use a screw driver and be careful when taking off Globalwin fans. You should probably be ok, Orb's are the ones known for cracking.

Yeah thermal grease is essential!!! Installing some case fans will help cool down the rest your system too.

My 1.33 is running between 37C-42C. When overclocked to 1.56, it's between 40C-44C. I get these readings with the MSI PC Alert 3 program as MBM5 doesn't support my mobo yet. Temp readings in the bios is gernerally 2-3 degrees lower. I am using the MC462 hsf.

ok im gonna order some thermal grease, is arctic silver the best, and wher do you apply the grease to?.
im running at 58c now and i ran a bunch of benchmark test with 3dmark2001 and the temp is still under 60c. so im gonna try the grease and get 2 more case fans, 1 to blow air in and 1 to blow out?.
thanks

Get Arctic Silver II since its a little better than the original stuff. You apply it to the little square in the center of the CPU which is known as the core. I'd say one to blow air in and one out sounds good.
