View Full Version : need help in overclocking t-bird 1ghz

hi!! want to know how to overclock my t-bird 1ghz.
In the bios, i can change the mhz to 1250 but dont know if i should. furthermore, i can also change the fsb. havent tried pencil trick. also, if i changed the settings in my bios, do i need better coolers. cpu is currently running at 33 d-celsius. Never had overclocking experience.

if your chip doesn't have the L1 bridges connected, which it probably doesn't, then you can only change the cpu freq to like 111, about 1.11ghz. Read some guides on unlocking the thunderbird/duron. If you unlock it then you can change the clock multiplier which will allow you to go to like 1.4+ with good cooling. I have a tbird 1ghz, but didn't want to take a pencil to it so i got a duron 600 and its exactly the same for unlocking it. i unlocked it fine and went to 1050. Its not that hard but i didn't want to have a tbird keychain, since the duron is only 50 bux it wouldn't have been much of a loss
