I've got a P4PE which lists the FSB speed as 533/400 Mhz and claims to support HT.

If I want to upgrade to one of the P4's with HyperThreading am I correct that I cannot use the 800 Mhz versions?

The only 533 Mhz version I can find is the 3.06Ghz chip which is a whopping $381!

If I can use the 800 Mhz versions I have more price flexibility:
2.4C $170
2.8C $266

Anyone have any experience with this MOBO and HT chips?

well, since u're in the US
might want to look at newegg.com
i'm not too familiar with places to get great prices in the US

Newegg is good otherwise googlegear.com is great 2nd day air for free.

Googlegear is in CA, and i live in MI and i always got my stuff the second day.

Fun stuff. I just scored the Dell server with a 2.4C (HT) for $434.11.

Now for the hard decisions:

1. Do I leave the 2.4C chip in the new server, which will only be crunching SETI and serving WU's to the Multi-Node Diskless Cruncher?

OR

2. Swap processors with my Main Rig (see signature), making the Multi-Node Server a 2.4B.

Any thoughts?
