Ok...I have a question about a setting in my BIOS that has to do with setting the ratio of the RAM to the FSB. It has 1:1, 2:3, etc, there are quite a few. Can someone please clarify what these things mean? Wouldn't they just change the frequency of the RAM? I (correct me if I am wrong) realize that when RAM is oced the cpu's FSB changes to get equal speeds. So why would there be other thatn 1:1 ratios? Thanks in advance :) Oh..and while I'm here...is a 11.52V reported by Hmonitor on the +12v safe/okay? I have a [email protected].

I can do 208 FSB with Memory frequency set to Auto.

Only 152 FSB with 100% Memory frequency. (I have PC2100 RAM)

If I go to 75% memory Frequency, for example my 205 FSB will result in 0.75 x 205 = memory bus 154

100% is best in reality although maybe not in benchmarks.

A whole thread worth of reasons why, click here:

Well....my ratio is 1:1...so what you're saying is that what it is at is the right way to go? It's not defeating the purpose of raising the FSB? I'm using PC2700.

Yes.
He-he interestingly you never posted your FSB, what is it, don't say 2.18 GHz say [xxx] FSB times xx multi.

Your ram can take 166+ FSB so go for it at 100% memory frequency.

Posting "52xCDROM 8x8x32CDRw 2 3.5FDD" is nice but where's the cooling, that's what's important for overclocking.

Oh...sorry..um..I can't change the multi, so since it is a t'bred rev b, it is 12.5, right? The FSB is 175. I'll change that in my sig, too.

edit: wait..dont answer about the multi...i feel stupid.
Also, I changed my sig...adequate?

Stock cooler....? What are your temps and did you Prime95 Torture test this thing for stability?

The longest I ran p95 for was ~6hrs (then I shut down my comp, it was late) at 174fsb and got 48C max. I ran it today for ~30mins and got 49C max. I think this may be attributed to my new video card, seeing as I don't have a huge array of fans, which is slightly OCed. I don't plan to bring the FSB up any more.
