which version has better potential for overclocking?

Does the athlon xp 1700 paly or t-bred have better overclocking potential? It's the t-bred right? I need to double-check so i can tell my friend. THanks.

1) Moved to AMD CPUs.

2) Everything I've ever read/heard says T-bred "B"s out overclock Palaminos.

T-breds

Yes the Throughbreds have more overclocking potential as already stated. You preferable want a "B" stepping witch is identifyable by the stepping code ending in B for example JIUHB The throughbreds also overate at a lower voltage than the Pallys so if the chip doesnt end up being overclocked it will run a little cooler. The pallys operate at 1.75v and the Throubreds come in either 1.5v and 1.6v identifyable by the code DLT3C and DUT3C. I think there is some nice stepping coming about on other chips so you may want to do a little searchinig before youre friend makes a purchase but either way get the right 1700+ and you have a good chip for the money.
