I know most don't want to run a chip at a slower speed, but since the chip should be at 100mhz and my board only supports 66mhz or 75mhz max. Could someone who knows, tell me what effect would it have if I ran it at 66mhz and increased the clock rate from 3.5 to 5.0... I know others have said you don't get much benefit from doing a clock bump but that's my only option... The MB and the AMD cpuid both say i'm now at 333mhz, which it seems stable and alright for what I am using it for... Where can I find more info on clock rate changes and their adverse affects on chips?

There are no adverse effects... only your system will be slower at 66 than at 100... and max multiplier for k6 can be 5.5 (yes, some people say they can set it higher) so you can't exceed 75*5.5... about 412 MHz...

Yeah, it'll work, but you need to make sure your board supports dual voltage CPU's (MMX). The core voltage on a K6-2 is 2.2 volts and VIO is 3.3. If you can get the voltage settings right, running 66x5 or 5.5 should not be a problem.

Thanks for the quick reply, at least I know I wont burn anything up and no special cooling is needed...
Now i only have to find Graemlins.com to make sure I don't use the wrong smilie face...
