View Full Version : Copper shim for my Duron?
I've read the pros and cons of the thing, but where the heck can I buy one? I know I can order one from either www.cpufx.com, or www.coolerguys.com, or wherever, but I don't want
to pay for shipping what I'm almost paying for the dang shim! I went to my local Frys (Dallas, TX), and they looked at me like I was crazy when I described the item. I'm putting together my first AMD system, and my 800 Duron is just begging to be taken care of. :) Thanks for any info you can provide.

its only a couple dollars for shipping right? i'm getting a 540mb hard drive for 5 bux...shipping is 5.50...o well :p
Well.. the best price I've seen for the copper shim is a little over $8, but with $5.50 for shipping, I'd rather spend that in gas going to a local store and having it right away, then wait for it to come by UPS/USPS. Oh well. I should stop nagging. I was just wondering if these things were sold in local stores.

I found this yesterday. Seems like it is better than copper shims.

Well.. I finally broke down and placed an order from www.coolerguys.com for one of their shims. Thanks to GhostFaceKiller for the suggestion.
