Hey there people! sup with you all? Had a question regarding my brother's
pc. The problem with his PC is that, well, its kind of getting over heated.
The problem seems to be in well. I really dont know where the problem lies
in, thats why I am actually posting a question over here. The processor
fan of the cpu(Which is an Intel P4 2.0 Northwood core) seems to be
working quite well, and its an original Intel fan, and its RPM rate is also
quite normal, though the motherboard and the Power supply are getting
totally heated. So much that I think if I put some oil and an egg on it,
it will fry it.

Anyways, the CPU Case is kind of small. Somedays back the power supply of
it also got fried up, and thank god it was just the power supply and not
something very costly. So do you think its getting over heated cuz of the
size of the CPU Case, or maybe there is some other problem?

And for cooling, does the overall room temperature play an important role?

And do you think if I buy a bigger CPU Case, it might help me with the so
called heating problem I am facing right now?

And the reason I said I dont think the problem actually lies with the
cpu processor fan is that... If the processor was getting over heated,
I dont think it would cause the CPU Case to heat right?

So anyways, I will be waiting for some replies.

the cpu will heat the case.. what you are lacking is case airflow.. go to your local computer store and buy a case fan or two, first make sure you can install them in your case

Can you put up a pic or link to a pic of the case in question? It doesn't even have to be the specific case itself, just a pic of the specific model from the manufacture's site would do. If you can it'd help us all try to help you figure out what the best solution to the problem is.

And for cooling, does the overall room temperature play an important role?

Yes! In my case I've come home to an un-airconditioned room that was 90F and my CPU on my main machine was at 55C! It's normally runs around 38-40C! Most likely though, I'd say a big part of your problem is lack of case airflow.

Another factor in making heat in a computer is the video card.
Nvidia designs their chip to be able to run at 100°C or 212°F so this could also contribute to you heat problem.
Like EOBARD said post a pic or a link to your case and we can help.

Alright, I will post the pics over here in about 5 hours or so. Anyways about what Lt. Max said... "go to your local computer store and buy a case fan or two, first make sure you can install them in your case", I already have two case fans installed...

buy a couple more fans, i have 9. What ever the room temp is, my case is alwase a few degrees higher and i have a relitivly small case too.
