Just installed this HSF today. In case anyone is thinking of buying it all I have to say is that its awesome. Very easy to install, at no point did I think I was going to cause harm to the board. All I used were my hands. No screwdrivers or anything. Will follow up on cooling once my case arrives.
Well that is certainly good to hear! Mine comes in the next few days, and I also got one for my friend. What kind of temps are u getting dude? Lemme know, thanks!

they are really peices of art ,but they are starting to look anemic compared to some of the newer ones
I bought one a month ago, first impression opening the box : WOW!
Second impression after degreasing the surface, WOWOWOWOW!
Third Impression applying it, OUCHOUCHOUCH (I found the clip a little hard but it's still well done)
Fourth Impression watching the temps (with the sanyo denki 19CFM fan), sweeeeeet (3 CFM less than a chrome orb and 10 degrees lower : D)
To extend its lifespan (in term of performances without noise), there are 80mm (even 92mm) fan adapters :) And there are excellent 80 or 92 papst fans out there pushing heavy cfm at reasonnable noise level.
I love my Pal 6035, with a 80mm->60mm adapter. I slapped a 80mm 36cfm Sunon fan on it and my temps dropped a whole boat load. I got 50 extra mhz from my littler Duron 650@1080mhz.

Is the Sanyo fan the one that is included with the PAL6035? Is it quiet? Seems like it should be given its lower CFM rating. Does the PAL still perform well even with this low-CFM fan?

The PAL comes with whatever fan(s) a particular reseller offers them with. The PAL with a Sanyo Denki low noise fan performs within 1C of a PAL with a YS Tech fan. With the Delta fan the temperature drops ~5C-6C.
i love my pal! i use a delta, and it's not as loud as i thought it was going to be from all the horror-stories... mind you, my whole case is pretty loud cause of all the case fans.. ;)

This Alpha is the state of the Art, no wonder those Japanese guys earn a lot of money, pls give credit to them, they deserve it.
I have one and it is neat and perfectly fits above my Duron, quality is the best.
The PAL is good, but it really benefits from a stron fan, in particular above 1.2 GHz.
Yo
I'v been using the 6035 for about 4 months, ever since i put this system togeather,It has a GW fan on it rated at 38cfm and does a great job,I'v never had it go over 40c.I put my order in for the Millennium Copper Glaciator and looking forward to seeing what I might get out of that.I guess i'll put the 6035 in the wifes pc.

Addendum to Tachyon: Alpha ships two versions, PAL 6035 MFC and MUC
MUC is PAL with alpha's choice sanyodenki fan and MFC is PAL alone (with grease etc...) Shops around the world seems to sell the MFC with a fan of their choice.
Answer to Len: Sanyo Denki is supposed to be a top notch quality fan in the low noise category but the produced noise is still too much for my little ears (I'm building myself an 80 mm adaptator to put a Sunon 31CFM/25db). IMO, it performs very well and it's well made but should be quickly limited @ 1ghz+ (regarding reports about surface duron or athlon, voltage, watt output etc...). If you want the kind of reasonably low noise/CFM ratio, watching for an MFC with a papst could be a good idea.
Papst (see fan selectors and enter your criteria) (http://www.papstplc.com/)
e.g.: 60*25mm 19cfm minimum and 28db maximum finds a 21CFM fan at 28db ! papst may be good challengers :)
