I've been working off and on, on my old case for about 2 months now. Lots of sanding, I finally got to where I could use some rubbing compound, and some polish, but there is still a slight glaze to the shine. Its not quite mirror. I've been doing this by hand, havent used a buffer. Would I get better results if I used a buffer? Or does anyone know of a way to get rid of the glaze.
So far that was about 3 coats of rubbing compound , about 4 coats of polish.:eh?:
Thanks
BTW how do I make the image appear instead of the link. I posted this inside the image tagshttp://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/bkp_80@sbcglobal.net/vwp?.dir=/PC&.dnm=Hazy.jpg

Holy crap that thing is shiny.
Sorry though, I don't know how to solve your problem.
I'm just jealous because my case never came out even remotely that nice.

You can post pictures using the IMG button on the Post Reply page. You will need to find someone to host your pictures. One popular place is http://www.theforumisdown.com
I don't think you can use Yahoo Photos for hosting with the IMG button. But using the link to the photo, like you did, is just about as good.
BTW, that is an awsome finish. I'm going to have to put some more elbow grease into my paint job. Looks great!

I can almost read the truck's license plate across the street! What do you mean it's hazy! Good job!

A buffer (depending on which kind of buffer you use), will give you a better finish, but you have to be REALLY careful when you use one. A second too long in one spot will "burn" the paint, and ruin an already really awesome paint job. What compound did you use? Using too harsh of a compound will give you that effect.

I used the same compound that was mentioned in the "case painting Sticky" 3M Rubbing Compound Fine Cut P#03900"
I got some of the hazyness out by applying about 3 more coats of polish, I still need to wax it"
Thanks
