Hey guys, is there a way to remove the northbridge heatsink on an NF7- S without taking the board out and damaging the plastic retainers? They look like its possible, but I'm not sure.

Nope. Unless you can get to the back of the MB with is still in the case ( I kinda can). The black pin things expand on the back and you need to squeeze them together to get them off. Dont pull or you'll bust sumthin fur shur.

Too late :) I just yoinked them out. No harm done luckily. No difference in fsb though either. (lapped + as3)

another way was to cut the plastic knobs and then replace them with new ones which are pretty cheap from even Comp USA, but anyway you made it.
