im confused with going from water to peltier and now im thinking to just start off with a good heatsink/fan setup. so can any1 tell me what can be achieved using say a PEP66 with a 6800 rpm fan,or pal6035, and or your own personal best using one[hsf] ........thought id just mention it will be going on an Abit kt7a mobo.................

the heatsinks you mentioned are good.. and it's wise to start smaller and work your way up. you should be able to get a good overclock (>1400) with a nice hsf.. but it also depends on the rest of your system: ram, case cooling, pci cards, etc... nothing is a given with overclocking, as much as the axia procs make it seem that way.

good luck!

There are a number of very good hsf combos out there. One criterion I would look for is the possibility to easily add an 80mm fan for improved airflow and less noise.

The Globalwin WBK38 fits that bill and it's at least as good as the Alpha 6035.
