ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER AN OC'D AMD CPU WILL LIVE COMPARED TO A NON OC'D CPU? THAT IS , WITH PROPER TEMPS AND "STUFF"? JUST CURIOUS.

From what i have seen an OC'ed procsessor with good temps will last around 5 years. And by that point it is outdated. How long will one last not oc'ed...hard to estimate something like that. Differences in chips and the conditions under which they are kept makes a huge difference. If you don't go crazy with the oc, low voltage, and have good temps you really don't have anything to fear.

Early Last year I bought a top of the line 600mhz Pentium III, top notch then but almost nothing now, after 1 year, compared to the late 1.3 Athlon, 1.7 P4.... Just only one year???Any OCED CPU may last at least 5 years??? BUT who cares about those CPU after 3 years though... :-) :-) :-)

i'm with tim... even if the thing lasts one year, by then it's outdated. and if you're the type of person who's overclocking, then you're not going to be sitting around with a slow cpu. you're gonna want the fastest there is.

hehehe my oc'd p75 at 90mhz is still running strong after about 6 years! :)

Good opinions, but every chip desing is outdated when it's no longer just on the blue prints. New desings start almost immediately...

Think of it this way: By the time your CPU dies, the heatsink will be worth more than the CPU itself.

About five years ago a Pentium 75 was the top CPU. Today, it is worth about $3 new, $1 used.
