Im thinking, if you check your date of purchase, and email tech support they might be able to help you.
i don't know the date of purchase it came with a comp my girlfriend got for christmas from her parents 2 years ago built by a guy her dad works with. isn't there a way to check the serial # and find out?

There is with some manufacturers, IBM/Hitchi comes to mind.
Edit: Found it, Here (http://support.seagate.com/customer/warranty_validation.jsp) you go :)
As it's 2 years old it should be under warranty.

I had to look at that one for a while too.
If you pull the drive out. It should have all the info on the top of it. But if you didnt buy it, I doubt they will want to warrenty it. Good luck. K1ll1nT1m3

When I sent back my disk all they wanted was the RMA number (created on the website using the serial and model numbers), and a return shipping address.
Possession is 9/10 ths of the law :)
Edit: we need superscript code like sciforums :-/
