View Full Version : Spode sets new world record. 94c!!
Yes thats right. I did it again, turned the fan off to test a cooler and forgot about it. Went out the room to watch TV. Came back, 94c!!! This is on a duron 600@800 at 1.95v. And it's still working fine! WOOOT!

lucky *******.
you're flirting with AMD's limits.
glad you're still in the game.
Wow, was it still running at that temp?
what do you mean "still running"? I came in. Turned the fan back on and it slowly climbed back down the temperature scale. I could have closed folding@home taking the load off. But that would waste precious folding time!
UPDATE: Oh, do you mean stable? Yeah, windows hadn't crashed at all!

spode, you never cease to amaze me!
I bet you say that to all the spodes!
oh hang on. Yes I AM the only Spode. And thank god, theres not enough CPU's to go round for another one.
I tell ya tho, getting it to 94c gets you less pannicky when you come in the room at 70c.
i recon that 1 more degC and that chip would have been fried chips(yum yum).
GOD...
You should buy a lottery ticket while your luck is running. ;D

i think i did that with my duron 700 once. i put the fop on backwords(not thinking to brightly ;D) and then proceded to clock 'er up to 800@1.85v. when i got into windoze, the second mbm5 had loaded it started beeping and alerting me that i was above the 75c levle(my duron had a sticher on the bottom so im sure the temp was actuly a fair amount higher).
moral of story: check your cooling BEFORE you turn it on! ;D

Gee, why even bother cooling it, seems it won't brake down anyway. You were damn lucky again! Hey, tell me, what was it that was so interesting on TV you forgot your Duron :D Simpsons again?

Wow, that was close, you could have easily burnt your fingers when reinstalling the fan :)
Boy, imagine how it'll run after you get finished "burning" it in!
BTW, shouldn't this thread be in "OVERHEATERS.COM"?
