Pretty much just the question above. Most people have said fanbuses will just burn with it connected.

Are we talking a Vantec Tornado?

If so, Nexus Controllers (Another Vantec Product) can handle the Amperage the Tornado needs (I believe 1 amp? Correct me if I'm wrong).

There have been numerous problems with the nexus controllers. Even a quite lengthy thread dedeicated to them.

I have one myself and have had no problems with it, but I am not using a tornado with it.

I suggest buying a rheobus from PCmods that can handle around 20watts. Just strip the wires and connect it that way. I think they use more quality PCB and parts in theirs. But expect to pay more.

Take a look at this heavy duty 15ohm 15w ceramic Rheostat for
* $1.65 * (http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=470015&item=RHE-15&type=store)

They handle my 120x38mm 130cfm Nidec Beta fans nicely. If it can
handle those it should have no problem with the 80mm Tornado.
