Thanks for the great deals.

I got a few questions if I may ask:

- I've owned Maxtor's until now but I would like to try out the WD's - I keep reading that the WD 120GB 8MB cache is much faster than its maxtor equivalent but the WD is using the IDE ATA-100 interface while the maxtor is using the ATA-133 (which should give higher throughput) and yet the Maxtor is slower...Does anyone know what the deal is in that respect?

- This WD 120GB 8MB *retail* version (#WD1200JBRT) sounds like a good HD - would you guys recommend it over a Maxtor (equivalent) - I hear it is pretty quiet (no pun intended :)) - is it as quiet as its Maxtor equivalent?

Thanks in advance,

fibonaccov... I've been wondering the same thing lately as I have been contimplating weather to get a 120wd or maxtor.. maxtor ata 133 vs wd ata 100... i would have thought the maxtor would be faster... can any body shed some light on this for us?
