my idea to make a water block is too..
have a 2/16 inch base...which has copper wires ( about 1/6 ) soldered onto the center

a 1/2inch center
and a 4/16 inch top.. or something around there..
is that a good idea?

has this been done?

2/16 = 1/8"
4/16 = 1/4"
but a 1/2" center with or with out the wires soldered on? If it is with out the wires it may be on the thick side and need more flow to cool. Other than that it sounds OK
