This is my first ASUS MB I've ever gotten, I've always used ABIT's. But I cant seem to get my system to reboot most of the time when I set my vcore to anything but 1.6v or auto. WTF?? It's really getting on my nerves, hell, I've got the newest 1004 bios. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Plus, I just got this 1gig TBird last night and it posts as a 750 with a 100fsb. The crap I have to go thru sometimes... By the way, the pencil trick is the only thing that will let my comp boot, without it I get lights and fan noise but no video or booting noises.

Let me guess your 1gig Tbird is a 266/133fsb Bird right? A7V133 originally posts to 100Mhz. Go into the BIOS under...Advanced ...Operating Frequency Setting and change the setting from [Standard] to [User Define] and change the CPU Frequency from [100 Mhz] to [133 Mhz].
ASUS defaults to 100Mhz fsb for maximum stablity on first Boot.
I am uncertain about the voltage problem.
Good Luck :)

Thank goodness, this A7V133 MB is giving me more problems then ABIT EVER has. Maybe I should RMA it and exchange it for an ABIT KT7A. Whenever I set the vcore to auto, it will default to 1.75V. This is not what I want it at. But If I set my vcore to 1.6, I run fine. 1.65 will not boot at all, the lights run but the monitor shuts off and the lights just stay on. It's very puzzling. It did this with the Duron 850 I had in it before this TBird.

This is an a7v only website, the only place to ask for help.
And this is the original forum, with all the articles to get that a7v up and running

Thanks for the info, but the links are more for A7V's then A7V133's. I am looking for a new PSU to see if that helps. Does that even seem feasable? The auto kicks it to 1.75-1.8vcore but if I manually set it to 1.65 or higher it wont boot, because of the 250W PSU?
