Hi all,
I have TB 700 on a KT7 with watercooling. Temps being 22 idle, 35 load. (depending on room temps). The cpu is perfectly stable at 850, 860, 876 (103.8.5). At 900 (1.85V) it will boot will boot win2k, run aps in win2k but then lock under heavy cpu load. What could it be? Not enough power supply, temp to high (should i add a peletier?) ... ? Note that the computer will turn itself on even at 950, and 1ghz, although it wont boot win2k completely.
Thanks 4 your help,
Mat
questions posted in a way that nobody can answer? High temp??? Not enough Power??? That is it??? how can anyone answer with that much detail??? even if somebody wants to help, he does not even know where to begin with :-) :-) :-)

You very well may have hit the wall for your cpu...better cooling will always(assuming not already about -50C @load) help though.
You posed the question of not enough power supply, but you didn't say what you are using. At 1.85Vcore, you ought to be using a 300W one with a tbird. They guzzle current at the higher core voltages. You temp is not the problem. Thelemac is probably right about the wall, but you can get over it with higher Vcore. In the case of the KT7, that means the Phase 1 and 2 mods. With water cooling, you have some headroom left for more power dissipation, assuming your PSU has the "starch" for it. With my 650 Tbird, when I went above 2.05Vcore, I had to go with a 400W PSU.

thx .
yes my 250W might be the problem. In sysoft sandra at 893 (107 * 8.5) the CPU hangs after 2 hours or so the temp being 38. i wnated to change it anyway, so ill c if it makes any difference.
250W is a problem??? Yes...The more power you get, the better. .. but I have a dual 366 mhz Celeron 1 oced up to 5.5x110= 605mhz on a 235w PSU and it runs just fine. I just back off a little at 5.5X106 = 583mhz to get maximum stability on those 2 CPUs. I think Thelemac is right; at some point, the CPU gets to its limit and that is it...be happy with it.
