226 watt pelt question

If i have a 226 watt pelt on something. What would happen if i turned off the heat source the pelt was cooling but also turned off the thing that was cooling the hot side of pelt. Would pelt die like if i left on pelt but turned off water pump or turned off fan cooling it?

Yep, pelt would die. It would still be dissipating hundreds of Watts itself, and without cooling it would overheat to the point that the solder it was put together with melted.

Ok, i guess i have to rig up a way to turn off pelt PSU with rest of comp.
