ive nver had a fried cpu experience. and my mobo is now in RMA . but i notice theres a faint black line right above the core on the AMD proecssor. i cant rub it off with my finger nail. but its like all the way across the cpu.

is it burnt? i thought was mobo because it wouldnt post. so i RMAed that. but maybe its the processor?

My only fried CPU experience, it burned along the edges of the outer row of pins. What were the syptoms again? When I fried my mobo (took the Willy with it) it would do zip, wouldn't even draw current from the PSU (switching PSU) but when my friend burned his CPU only it would spin fans and act like it was booting up but wouldn't show anything but a black screen.

I think it's fried. But check the cpu with another mobo, and if it works, then it's okay.

AMD puts a line of black glue(i think that what it is) on the one side of the core, so it could be that.

That depends. Did it just stop posting one day? Did it not post when you built your comp and tried it out?

Best thing to try is test your CPU/MB in another rig if you or a friend have one available. You can never be too safe when checking components. It's hard to say with your details given what it is. Educated guess leads to MB but could be any # of things.

sorry should have told u more background info. because this is obvious. but its kinda funny why it happened. i flahsed it with awdflash. with newest bios. it 100% finished the bars and said press f1. i believe thats the part where it restarts. i pressed f1 and it went to a blank screen (probably restarted and had a blank screen)

so i waited a long time and then finally manually restarted and isnce then all i get is a blank screen. so im kinda ****ed and try everything i can. i RMAed the board so ya.

any suggestions why that would happen? i didnt power off or anything during the flash

You have corrupted the bios chip most likely.

The biggest thing when flashing BIOS is Never restart/reboot during the process. You said it was completed and told you to press F1, but still i have to agree with OC Detective, seems your BIOS is now corrupted. Call this a learning experience.
