I was looking around on flebay. Some of these sellers have like 60,000+ feedback. What I don't understand is for instance, this guy selling brand new in the box Dell Inspiron 8500 laptops (non refurb) for hundreds less that what they cost online, and still carry the 1 year warranty. Where is the world do these people find these things? I mean, they cost hundreds less (even after the auction is over with a high bidder) but you know the seller is still turning a profit, even if its <$100 bucks. It was a dutch auction so he has 10+ of these units with pics showing them in thier original unopened containers.

I just can't figure out where people find these things, and of course if you looked at his other auctions, it was the same things, just different items.

Alot of people say the get their stuff from wholesalers, but with a google search not much turns up.

Are these items stolen?

I just don't get it, if I could figure it out, I would be a power seller too and live off ebay

wholesale rocks. The more you buy, the cheaper you get it. You can literally blow away any local vendors prices, sometimes by as much as 50%.

I buy/sell modems on ebay often. What sells for $120 in worstbuy I sell on ebay for $60 to $70 and they sell like hotcakes.

you can definitely make a living off of ebay, but be prepared to drop 10 grand (minimum) to start up.

Most wholesalers require a tax ID to purchase from them. To get one, you need to form a small business entity for yourself in your state. Definitly something to think about.

Shadow do you have any further information or links to info about how to go about starting a e-bay business? If so I would be interested.

They only require a tax ID number if you do not wish to pay taxes on the items you purchase from them. If you're willing to do business in volume, you'd be surprised how flexable they are.

Opening a business in Florida can be done the same day if you pay (I believe) $35 and open the business with your real name as the company name. If you use an alias, it'll take a couple weeks and cost more like $50.

You'd really have to check with state regulations to find out the specifics.

holy cow! open up a business in the same day? I know in Indiana you can open up a Biz, as a sole propri., but you still have to have a state tax ID which makes you wait another couple weeks. I appreicate the information btw.
