I finally got my watercooler going again and I liked my temps. I'm running a Barton 2500+, with AS3, and at idle I have a CPU temp of 33C.

I have Oc'd so far, up to 2310 MHz and now my idle temp sits around 38C. When I run Prime95 or play some games, my temp climbs up to 42-43C at most (I haven't seen it go any higher, but I haven't run prime for more than 30 minutes), and when I stop, it takes about 5-7 minutes to come back down.

I haven't oc'd since the days of Slot-1 P3's. Can anyone let me know if my temps are ok or if i need to have more cooling?

(I say NEED because more is usually better, but not always necessary)

Where are u getting your temps from? I'm using air and I never get over 43C load according to ASUS Probe. I'm trying to justify goin over to watercooling but everyone I see with watercooling have temps that don't really impress me. On a side note. Is it much quieter with watercooling?

Those temps seem pretty good to me.
TheGr8s1: You can't really compare Pentium 4 temps to AMD Athlon XP temps. AMD's run hotter than pentiums so make sure you are comparing people with pentiums and watercooled temps before you make a decision to jump into the water.:D

TheGr8s1: The temps are coming from MBM5, motherboard monitor 5. The program reads the temps from the onboard sensors like ASUS probe does I am OC'd by 500MHz too, so I would figure that a temp increase is going to be normal.

Now just because Water users get similar temps doesn't mean that it's a bad thing.. With water you will get more consitent temperatures with less heat spikes under load and the actual temperature change is a lot slower than air.

As for quieter? That depends how you build it.. mine is the same as when I had my HS/Fan installed, because I control my fan speed with a dimmer. I can make it louder but I have noticed that having the fan going full throttle as opposed to maybe 2/3 speed shows no difference in temps.
