I haven't seen anything about this anywhere, so I might as well ask you uber-knowledgible guys:

Is there any way to tell the CPU that it's a 133 instead of a 100?

I have a K7VZM motherboard and a Duron 750. The board claims to be able to recognize "C" chips and run at th proper FSB (133). When I plug up the Duron, it has a 100 FSB, and there is no way to adjust this. (It has a little bit of FSB OCing in the BIOS, but not enough to get to true 133.)

So, is there a set of leads on the CPU that can be drawn or cut to tell the motherboard, in the same way that you can adjust the clock multiplier and voltage?

I have a second question; I know I saw it somewhere, but I can't find it; what do all the bridges do/control? If you know, or have a link that explains, that would be a great help.

Thanks.

the chip itself will have the letter "c" if it is a 133. No "c: means you have a 100 chip which will probably allow you a 10-20% oc on the fsb

I think that you mean the L1 bridges. On the chip there shold be some little gold dots, labeled L1 you need to connect then by drawing some lines over them in pencil. Do not cross the lines make sure you connect them to the ones directly across from it like this : : : : to l l l l (dots=before, lines=after the pencil-it ou cross it you can fry your chip. Use a magnifying glass-then once done lower the multiplier and up the FSB.

Hope this helps

i think that board has a jump for 133 and above??? not sure but you should be able to increase the fsb to 133 and lower the multiplier the average OC for that chip is about 950 so 7x133 shouldn't be a problem. add details to your post. I hope it works.
