When i cannot sleep I dont bother trying...waste of time. It happens once in a while so I accept the inevitable, make a big pot of tea and sit down for some all nite gaming:D .
If you are having trouble sleeping on a regular basis than many factors could come into play: Unresolved problems, worries, stress...or it could be as simple as a coffee too late at night or treouble digesting food.
When i sleep well it is because of Exercize, vitamins, meditation, Yoga and good Sex:D . Generally those things help reduce stress and keep your Mojo Humming. They also have a side effect of a good sleepy time under the covers in Little Nemo land!

Eh... Welcome to the club ;)
I have chronic insomina due to post tramautic stress disorder. Its been going on for 2.5 years now :( In order to keep me alive the doc gave me sleeping pills that im supposed to take at least twice a week, I usually only take them once a week though.. but yeah. Its not all bad, not sleeping gives you lots of time to do stuff :)
Whenever I can't get to sleep I pop 2 Benadryl and wait an hour. That usually does the trick. ;)

I can never fall asleep. Like last night I went to bed around 11:00. I never fell asleep until after 12:30.
Now this morning, I'm real tired like usual.

i went to sleep at 9:30 PM last night in hope to fix my internal clock...because i have two 10AM classes that I will not wake up for by myself. I went to sleep at 6 AM yesterday, and woke up at 8:30 so yesterday was pretty hellish.
same thing happens to me sandman, i sit in bed for hours without being able to go to sleep most of the time.

Nyquil and physical exhaustion should put you out right quick :D

Exactly. I do not really take drugs unless I absolutly have to....and stuff like Nyquil has never worked on me. Some motrin works really well because it calms all my muscle aches which helps alot.

Really relate here I always had weird sleeping hours. Best is during exams. Wake up about 11 pm, study 'til 8am, exam , then sleep about 6pm.

Physical exhaustion isn't always something that works.
Me, I lay down at around 10pm, eventually fall asleep about 2am, wake up at 5:30am for work. Repeat for about a month.
Of course, it DOES built up after a while, and I've been known to sleep 40+hours straight without waking up at all after a extended period of 3 and a half hour nights.

I've got to have time to study and work!
On good days, I usually work until about 5-7 in the morning. Then I wake up at 8:30 to go to school. Last year, I remember doing 7:00 - 8:30 sleep shifts (with a couple naps at odd periods when I couldnt' help myself) for about 2 months. I eventually got so tired and I went back to something like 4 hours of sleep
It's a thing I got used to. Nowadays, coffee (two cups + chocolate) can keep me going till about 3-4. From then on, it's just pure will :)
