How long did your (or the average) pencil trick last on a AMD duron/t-bird

Aman99; How long ago did you do the pencil job? I did the trick a month ago and Keep wondering how long will it last too?

I did it in probably october, and sold the CPU about 2 weeks ago, it worked fine. There is no reason why the pencil trick should suddenly stop working unless you mess with your L1 bridges by touching them.

I've got one with the pencil that's been up for about six months, one with the defogger kit, one unlocked T-BIRD, all still up, haven't had to redo any of them.

mine's still going. been months, now. and a good few changes in cooling, so it's not like it's been undisturbed.

Hi, I'm new to this board and was just wondering what this pencil trick is that everyone is talking about? Thanks

Mine's held up since mid-February.... that makes it 2 months of joyous overclocking so far, without so much as a single hiccup in the multiplier department.

Uh oh.....

The pencil trick is where you use a pencil to reconnect the L1 bridges on an AMD T-bird processor so that you can use all the different multipliers in your bios to overclock it. Most T-birds came from the factory with certain L1 bridges cut so that you couldnt use anything but the 'stock' multiplier.
