Blowing L3 bridge with batteries....

I was unsuccessful blowing the last L3 bridge on my 1700+ and have resorted to the wire-in-socket method for getting a higher multiplier. The only problem with that is that I am stuck with whatever fixed multiplier I initially choose with the wire-in-socket mod.

It would be nice to adjust the multiplier in the bios. After a bit of reading I found that I had attempted to blow the bridge touching the wrong spots on the bridges.

Can anyone confirm if I need to short the brown or gold dots?

that explains why it didn't work then

that looks like the new 0319 packaging, in which case even if you try to blow the brown dots you will have to do some serious scraping over the top of them to remove the layer of plastic AMD put there.
