can anybody help me get 1.5ghz or more from my 1ghz axia chip. can boot up into windows at 1450mhz (10*145) and run different benchmark tests on problem, also runed burn in wizard.
have increase fsb to 11*135 = 1485mhz and still boots up into windows but will not run benchmark tests just keep crashing to windows
any help please
1ghz axia chip
abit kt7a-raid
geforce 2 ultra
5.1 s/b
2*30.7gb ibm hard drives in raid mode

Try a nice heat sink. The MC462 from Swiftech, costing $75-$80, is the best heat sink ever made (so far). Best performance, best connection with the socket/CPU, so there's no worries about crushing the CPU with it. But, $75 is not exactly cheap. But you do get what you pay for!
You might want to mention what HSF you have now.
Peltiers could potentially get you to your goal, and you'd want the MC462 at the least to keep it cool. Watercooling would be better... Your Peltier should radiate at least twice as much power as the CPU's max power expected. Generally this means a whole nuther power supply.
You might wanna consider stepping up your Vcore a bit. That can help w/ stability. And make sure to get that HSF! :)

Can you list your ambient, case and CPU temperatures as well as the vcore you are set at? I think 1450 is a good overclock out of your chip.

TaiSol CGK742092 CPU Cooler - Duron/Thunderbird (Socket A)
Taisol's latest and best performing Socket A cooler featuring a cold-forged aluminium heatsink measuring 80x60x58.3mm. Complete with low-noise dual ball-bearing high-output fan pushing 21.19CFM. This product is AMD approved for Socket A processors up to 1.2GHz. There is no approval for greater than 1.2GHz but we know this cooler is capable of much more.
removed and upgraded fan with a ;
Delta 60mm Fan
This is the fan fitted to the Globalwin FOP38 CPU cooler. Widely accepted as the highest performance 60mm fan money can buy it spins at 6800RPM and pushes a voluminous 37.61CFM. This fan is noisier than most.
and use two;
YS-TECH FD8125 80mm Fan - 4 Pin
The high output YS-TECH FD8125 80mm fan produces a massive 47CFM airflow. This makes it ideal for case cooling applications and is fitted with a 4-pin Molex (PSU) passthrough connector.
Size - 80x80x25mm
temp run at 27c at idel
44c at load

It sounds like you are pretty much at the limit of your chip, at least with air cooling. A Swiftech may get you to 1.5+ ...but there's no guarantee.
try some burn in`s...
your temps look very good.
maybe it`s your ram`s which r holding u back.
mine is at 1.523gig with 1.825v.
and as i write this the temp is at 45degC.
look at my sig for my settings.
the rams r all on the turbo mode in cas2 settings.
the I/O is on 3.5v.
GOD....
That is probably all you can get with your CPU. I also have one like yours and 10x145 @ 1.85Vcore is the best it will do, running Prime95 Torture and a "heavy duty" HSF.
God, you got an above average one. I can post at 10x150 @ 1.9V, get into WinME, but it fails Prime95
in the first pass. Runs everything else okay. At 10.5x145, it locks up in the WinME desktop, shortly after booting. I do not consider either of those an OC'ing success. At 10x145, it is plenty fast enough.
Water cooling and a peltier would probably get me to 10x150 solid, but that's more $ than just buying a 1.33 CPU to start with.
Any 1.0G that you can get to run solid at or above 1.4G is an accomplishment to be proud of.
Hoot
i`m using a cheapy hsf made by tiger.
it`s about the same size as a WBK38.
but i`m using it with a YS TECH fan.
try putting a 5mm copper coldplate onto your hsf.
it will improve the performance of your hsf,
i have 4mm silver coldplate,with arctic silver2 paste.
it is weird.
before icould not get beyond 1.45gig but after doing these mod i can even get to 1.7gig ..
well almost 1.668gig (11.5X145fsb)
but not stable.
will get in to windows but any 3D stuff and it will lockup.
try the coldplate thing....
GOD...
